Coupling effect

Lets give a little thought, on the coupling effect in the world economies. When US went into crisis, we(INDIA) were not affected much. But why the EU crisis, has an impact on our economy? what can we(INDIA) do, to be decoupled from the world economies?

Coupling effect: when 'X' countries economical situation is related to/ (has a affect on) the economical situation of 'Y' country.

Few Thoughts:
1. Increase the revenues from the Indian products.(Manufacturing sector)
2. Having strong monetary policy.

3. Fight corruption and make the BLACK money WHITE

4. Collective action, in various fields (Agriculture, Education, Judiciary)

1. EU is one of our top merchandising exports destinations. EU downturn means double whammy since US is already veering   

    towards a protectionist regime (visa hike, export duty hike blah).

2. EU banks are major investors in FDI, FII - (through them in Indian companies and Indian banks), and 

    defaults by Euro economy in general and euro banks in particular has made them risk averse. India is therefore

    hit (S n P recently downgraded Indian bonds to BBB- , a risky category, just before junk status). More importantly,

    the EU banks have to make up for their EU default losses, and hence they are pulling out of India.

3. The downturn in job market, has also led to backlash against jobs leaving the nation (this is more pronounced in US),

    hence immigration norms have been tightened - UK prime example.
4. Rupee downturn is both a cause (making investors wary) and result (already deteriorating BOP scenario) of crisis in Indian economy.

What can you do? Starting from the where you stand:

1. Join politics, and become the Fin Min .

2. Start a venture that creates real productivity, jobs

    

3. Go back to Swadeshi 

4. Elect people who know what they are doing, and who actually do something
